Built in 1927 as an art deco picture palace, the Palais Theatre is St Kilda’s home of live music!
The Palais Theatre is an iconic live performance venue with a 2,896-people capacity, making it Australia’s largest, fully seated theatre. It conducts over 100 events per year, ranging from live music, theatre, comedy, opera, ballet, film and other community events. For over 90 years, the Palais Theatre has regularly hosted top musicians and performers, including the likes of Johnnie Ray, Bob Hope, The Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, Al Green, Kenny Rogers, The Monkeys and UB 40, to name a few.
