Lively LANEWAY Festival in Balaclava’s new arts hub!
Balaclava’s Laneway Festival is packed with creative punch. Delivering a cultural mix of music, food, design, crafts and so much more, the Festival will delight and enthrall.
Presented by Space2b, a social enterprise for new migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum, the Festival includes street art; dance and African head wrap workshops, culturally diverse music and food from Somalia, Iran and Afghanistan, plus artworks and artifacts from many cultures, including Iran, Iraq, India and Indigenous Australia.
It also features a design market run by Northside Projects, the team behind the Blenders Market in Melbourne’s laneways. The Laneway Festival will coincide with Diversity Week and has become an annual fixture in Port Phillip’s festival calendar.
