They are a legacy from a different time; an artistic symbol of what humans have chosen to preserve\, what humans have valued in the past and what humans think should endure into the future. In this play\, they manifest as a public fountain and meeting place. When the water is turned off\, they become aware that the world is crumbling around them\, and are forced to decide whether it’s worth sticking around for a future that humans are failing to preserve.   \nIn the same city\, three young women are making their way in the world. They are living in a time of extremes\, with a volatile future staring them down. As woman\, they finally have the power and opportunity to lead. Yet there is a snag\, and it comes in the shape of a baby. Can women raise profit margins and the next generation\, while simultaneously treading lightly on the earth?  \nThis play is set at a tipping point\, in a world of shifting morals. It explores the tension between our personal responsibility to the future\, and our collective desperation to transform ourselves into something worthy of preservation.  The Three Graces asks: can we live a valuable life under the weight of the legacies we’ve inherited? DESCRIPTION:For a brief moment in history\, on 19 March 2018 the world stopped as news spread about the tragic loss of Sudan\, the last male northern white rhino. However\, in light of this news\, there was a glimmer of hope among shattered hearts in the form of a bronze rhino sculpture\, titled The Last Three. Installed in New York City by internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc\, the 5.2-metre tall artwork was launched a mere 4 days before the death of Sudan. The sculpture became a powerful memorial\, to which millions of residents and tourists flocked. \nOn 2nd February 2019\, a highly anticipated sculpture\, unlike anything seen before\, has yet again inspire millions of people to never give up hope in the fight for rhinos – and the natural world as a whole. \nRepublica St Kilda Beach\, along with world-class sponsors continue the endeavor with the launch of history’s most important rhino sculpture\, featuring the only remaining northern white rhinos – Najin and Fatu. \nOn 2nd February 2019\, Melbourne was bewildered by the unveiling of The Wonderful Two\, which offers a symbol of hope and education that future generations can do better. \nThe sculpture depicts Najin and Fatu connected in the middle\, with their heads facing opposite directions. Both rhinos are trying to pull each other the opposite way to safety. It seems their fate is stuck in place and time with only two left on earth\, and no simple direction to freedom. \nWe want The Wonderful Two to celebrate all of the amazing people and organizations that drive positive change in wildlife conservation. The sculpture is aligned with the hashtag #LoveTheLast. \nVisitors are asked to take a photo with the artwork and share it with the hashtag #LoveTheLast\, jump starting efforts to spread critical awareness. Donations to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya will assist Najin and Fatu to live out their much-deserved final days in peace.

But there really was a city called Dresden and it really was firebombed during a war that was really fought by children. And Kurt Vonnegut Jnr really did witness all that fire and death as a prisoner of war. And he wrote a book about it. And award-winning playwright Fleur Kilpatrick really has adapted it for the stage to be performed by people no older than the ones we once sent to war. \n“This is a story I’ve always wanted to put on stage\,” says Fleur. “It is a deeply painful and messy story – it makes war look foolish and embarrassing – but it is also very funny\, full of delicious sci-fi\, porn and aliens.” \nFleur is collaborating with Theatre Works and Monash Uni Student Theatre to create an intense\, fast-paced\, and darkly comical retelling of Kurt Vonnegut’s experience of the bombing of Dresden during WWII. Through a weird and wonderful mix of sci-fi and sex\, Vonnegut tells a deeply personal survival story of a boy sent to war\, who witnessed a horrific massacre. \nIt will begin like this\, “Listen: Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time.” \nIt will end like this “Poo-tee-weet?”
